Auto Shipping Up and Down The Eastern Seaboard / Coastal States

These are also known as the coastal states. From north to south they are Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Although the New England region is included here, we see it as a separate area in auto transport because traffic is determined by Massachusetts. The same will go for Georgia and Florida, as they are in a region that has it’s own dynamic. Almost 30% of the U.S. population lives in these states which in another reason why there is so much availability and auto transport occurring up and down this area. The two epicenters of auto transport here are Florida and New York. This is a snowbird route. These are our seasonal retirees, coming to and from Florida to escape the bitter winters. This movement causes the most dramatic fluctuations in pricing from winter to summer. Raising and lowering prices by 40% each way depending on the time of year. Florida helps provide availability and volume to Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas. New York reduces vehicle shipping prices in Connecticut ,New Jersey, and Maryland. Maryland feeds auto transport traffic to and from D.C., so between the two states, you see a bunch of traffic as well. As fat as intrastate car transport goes, as long as vehicles being transported are heading in and out of the western region of Maryland, there is plenty of good pricing and availability. Typically anyone heading into Delaware will find a bottleneck because there is so little going to and from the state at all. And then there is Pennsylvania. If it’s Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, and basically anything on the east side erring to the south auto transport there is a breeze. Thing of the 95 as the main line meeting al this area. The closer you are to it, the better auto shipping is. If you continue south you have Virginia and the Carolinas. It’s no surprise here that if the area is full of people and close to a major highway artery, then it’s fast and affordable to find car transport. Arlington and Alexandria for example, are constantly seeing traffic for both proximity to major highways and the amount of shippers there. North Carolina is a hot spot, but those in South Carolina have harder time if you see where they are on the map. Unless you are in Columbia, it’s not going to be very easy. Most carriers run through both Charlotte or Raleigh.

Vehicle Transport to and from The Southern States

In southern auto transport, Florida resides as king. This is most popular state for shipping vehicles to and from in the nation. That is why you see so many auto transport companies in Florida. Included in the south is Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia. Georgia has Atlanta as it’s center of action, we do see some auto shipping form Savannah, (because of the ports) Decatur, and Fayetteville. But for most of the south, there are only a couple of big city areas. In Alabama, for example, you have Birmingham but that’s it.. In Louisiana, New Orleans is a major area but because it where carriers need to turn around, it can prove to be a little tough even though it’s populated. Tennessee is much easier because of, Knoxville, Nashville or Memphis. But if it’s fam land or empty country expect pricing to rise and availability to drop. Almost all of Mississippi is extremely difficult , and even Jackson is going to suffer as there is just very little demand out there. Arkansas is another state that can be tough although Little Rock is accessible and provides enough demand to bring carriers in. West Virginia is slow to say the least, and really we don’t see many request to ship to or from the state. Kentucky has Louisville.Again the key here is areas that are not rural. It’s just that there is no demand and no carriers that go out there.. We always advertise door door and we’ll be the first to tell you that we can do it, but making your way to the main cities and areas mentioned will save you money and headaches every time.

Car Shipping In The New England Region of the U.S.

The New England region of the U.S. consists of six great states. They are Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont . We have several carriers that specialize in auto shipping for that area. The gateway state is Massachusetts. So since these states surround Massachusetts, it’s fast to locate a carrier to transport your vehicle since so much traffic enters and leaves that state. Highway 95 and 84 are easily accessible. However the further north your vehicle is or will be going, it could take longer since there are lest carriers going to the northern ends of states such as Vermont and Maine. In general, these states also encompass what is known as the Snowbird states as well for those leaving the New England region looking for warm weather and tax breaks.

Auto Transport To, From and Throughout The Midwest States

It is not hard for an auto transport company to load up vehicles in the Midwest Region. They are actually the northern central states going across the country. They are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The string of major cities make it a magnet for truckers to have plenty of vehicles to move and therefore rates are great and availability is there. Thanks to cities like Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Detroit, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Omaha, and Cleveland, your vehicle moves quickly. The Dakotas are more rural, and can take more than the usual time to arrange transport, but not entriely difficult because ther is plenty of traffic rich areas auOur Canada transports help feed vehicles to Michigan, however for the most part the northern areas suffer from possible issues with availability. When getting a rate for vehicle shipping, you’ll see the price hike for these northern areas.

Auto Transport to and from Northwestern States Facing the Pacific

This region is known as the Pacific Northwest. Encompassed within the region. are Washington State, Oregon, as well as Idaho. The most popular states that see traffic year round are Oregon and Washington. Between Tacoma and Seattle is Kent. This is where we send off all our Alaska vehicles. Anything coming from the southern states on the Pacific side moves along rather quickly. So does anything simply being moved between those two areas of Oregon and Washington. Lots of trucks all the time. There also are a lot of vehicles moving up and down so it’s an easy pick up or drop off on the way to Oregon from Washington or vice versa. This is a popular route for a lot of our carriers. We’ve been seeing some moves coming from the south east towards Washington and Oregon. These trips usually run over 3000 but pricing per mile is actually very low right now. The thing to remember is that anything coming we’re going across the United States takes time. Carriers only does travel anywhere from 300 to 500 miles per day. And when you were spending that many states, there is the potential for drop-offs and pick ups along the way. For example if you were making that move we mentioned earlier to or from the Pacific Northwest from or to the Southeast, expect he trip to take 10 days give or take.

Car Transport to and from The Southwestern States and California

Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, West Texas, and Southern Utah are all part of the Southwestern United States region for shipping cars. Although the Southwest is a popular state for sipping cars, the west end of Texas does not fall in to that category. Arizona there is a lot of land and empty space except for Phoenix . Close to West Texas will be New Mexico. When auto transporters see a vehicle in New Mexico they may not go get it unless it’s in Albuquerque. Looking at a map you will see that it’s because the interstate runs through just like parts of Arizona and the west side of Texas. And since there is nothing east or west but land and more land, that makes anything away from Albuquerque hard to move when dealing with New Mexico. Then there’s California. This is one of the most popular states. With 12% of the entire nation living there, that’s why there is so much action. Compare that to 30% of the nation’s residents living on the coastal states. So just less than half the percentage of all the U.S. residents spanning those 10 states live in California. That’s a lot of people and cars to ship.
