Nissan Z

The Z began it’s run in 1969 that, separately ran in the U.S. Market under the brand Datsun. The Japanese market called it the Fairlady Z. It was powered by a 2.0L SOHC L20A inline-6 producing 130 hp while the US have featured a 2.4L L24 inline-6 that produced 151 hp.

The next edition of the car was released in 1974. It has featured an increased engine displacement of 2.6 L with a 2+2 model with a slightly longer wheelbase.After the success of the  first two models, the Nissan 280 was soon released in year 1975. It’s power increased to 170 hp compared to the 240Z & 260Z.

Now known as the Nissan/Datsun 280ZX. The Nissan brand name was being moved on to the vehicle in the U.S.It has a 180 bhp (130 kW) and 203 lbf·ft (275 N·m) of torque supported by a 135 bhp (101 kW) and 144 lbf·ft (195 N·m) of the NA engine.

The Z car was totally redesigned in year 1984 and this car is the product of it. It it dubbed as the VG series of the new series of 2.0-liter V6 engine of Nissan.

Shortly after came the Z32 version. This car has been an instant hit to the industry, sweeping different awards in 1990. It also has a 3.0-liter V6 engine but the only difference is that it now has a dual overhead camshafts (DOHC), Variable Vavle Timing (VVT), and a rated 222 hp (166 kW) & 198 lb·ft

In 2002, Nissan released 350Z and the Japanese market called it as the “Nissan Blue Stage”. In the US, it was available with five trim package; 350Z, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, and Track editions. It is normally a seven trim package with Grand Touring and Nismo. This is unique with it’s 3.5L VQ35HR engine.

On December 30, 2008 Nissan introduced their 2009 model which is the Nissan 370Z. It has a 3.7 liter V6 engine and is said to be the fastest production Z.
