Will COVID-19 Delay or Prevent My Auto Shipment?

<< Back

Our customers along with our drivers and staff are the biggest priority at our company.

In the initial stages of the pandemic, our employees worked from home. However since lockdowns were lifted, our offices are back to being fully operational and our associates are practicing social distancing as well as following mandated protocols.

Our carriers are working taking vehicles and practicing safe social distancing, using gloves, disinfecting surfaces using sanitizing wipes and liquids which are interior safe and will protect them and you from possible exposure.

Additionally many of our “C.O.D.” carriers are now using payment apps such as Zelle.

What about my College Student?

Many students were boarding planes and returning to school if they have not done so already. Our carriers are working taking vehicles to and from schools as normal.

What about Seasonal Shippers / Snowbirds?

Snowbirds heading to and from Florida to the northeast did see spikes in carrier pricing but those have come and gone. December and January appeared to be the height of the season this year but you should expect your return trip to flow as it normally has year after year.

We have been adjusting our car shipping calculator daily to make sure we have accurate pricing but pricing is no longer so volatile. To get the most up-to-date pricing, call 800-284-7177.

What About Overseas Shipping?

Our port operations continue. Shipments to and from Puerto Rico have not seen any interruption. This goes for car transportation to or from Hawaii or Alaska as well.

As of this article’s update on 02/17/2021, it appears unlikely that there will be cancellations. In the event that any sailings are delayed or canceled, we will waive any and all cancellation fees . For up-to-date information go to https://www.jaxport.com/covid-19/ to see if your shipment is affected (Puerto Rico). Visit Matson.com for Hawaii. Refer to our site or call us at 800-284-7177 for Alaska or any other location.
