What Should I Look For To Not Get Scammed?

<< Back

Going through auto transport companies can be a bit of a hassle if you haven’t ever shipped a car before.

It’s important to deal with legitimate auto transport companies only. One of the most important steps you can take is to look around and research the various companies whose services are available to you. Check to see if they are accredited, experienced, and reliable.

Look for an MC number (Motor Carrier Number) or DOT number at the bottom of the web page. That’s really the quickest and easiest way. The FMCSA put out an advisory regarding some of tactics used by companies that don’t represent themselves properly.

Unfortunately, non licensed companies that sell information as leads are not mentioned in it and are still allowed to operate under the ruse of being an actual firm that books cars for transport. Avoid them to keep your sanity.

Reviews Should Be Prevalent in various websites. The only real way to gauge auto transport companies and their promises will be by looking at their reviews and complaints.

You should not have to pay for a service not rendered. This is a great example of a red flag.  So what do you do they billed you and you want to change auto transport companies and fix this problem? If you didn’t sign a contract, then that makes it much easier. You have your right to cancel under standard rules for acceptance of credit cards by a merchant. They cannot hold your deposit
